SkyBus Auckland

The SkyBus runs from central Auckland to Auckland Airport every 10 minutes, from 5 am to 10 pm. There is no train service direct to Auckland Airport, so the SkyBus is a convenient public transport way of getting there.

There are two routes: the Auckland City Express and the North Harbour Express.

The Skybus service replaced the former Airbus Express.

The SkyBus Auckland City Express connects Auckland Airport with the CBD and vice versa. From Auckland city centre to the airport, the bus picks up at Anzac Avenue, Customs Street (handy for Auckland Ferry Terminal) and Hobson Street and then stops at the International Terminal (near door 8), International Terminal (outside door 2), Domestic Terminal (near door 4) and Domestic Terminal (near door 2). The route is reversed from the airport to the CBD.

Presently the Auckland City Express is $15 one way or $28 return.

The North Harbour Express is $24 one way or $44 return.

Covid-19 Update

In September 2021, the Australian-based company Kinetec announced they were suspending the operation of all SkyBus Auckland Airport Express services indefinitely. This was due to the lockdown in Auckland and border restrictions. The company hopes to reassess the viability of reintroducing both services when all border restrictions for international passengers are removed.
